THE Arts Warriors and Human Resource Management (HRM) Hawks are set to lock horns in the University of Papua New Guinea Rugby League (UPNGRFL) grand final at the Vice Chancellor’s Oval tomorrow.
Defending champions Warriors and Hawks made it to the grand final after wins over Hetura Cyclones and School of Law (SOL) a fortnight ago.
The Warriors and Hawks are known for their physicality in defence as both sides to look keep their errors to a minimum.
UPNGRFL president Max Minara said the skill level and standard of the competition had improved since its affiliation with the PNG Rugby Football League in 2015.
“This league has produced talent for the Digicel Cup and numerous stars in the Hunters and Kumuls in the like of Garry Lo, Bernard Goma and Brendon Gotuno,” he said.
“The grand final will surely be an entertaining match and I’m looking forward to it.”
Warriors co-captain Frank Awape said his side would stop at nothing as they look to retain their title.
“We will not give it away easily, we have what it takes to win it so fingers crossed,” Awape said.
Hawks co-captain Greg Teveko said his side were looking to spoil the party for the Warriors.
