Wastewater project complete

EDA Ranu’s Port Moresby Wastewater management improvement project (POWAMIP) carried out in partnership with Japan’s International Cooperation Agency (Jica) is complete.
The project began in April 2017 with the aim of strengthening the capacity of the new sewerage treatment plant (STP) at Joyce Bay.
During presentation of the final report in a joint coordination committee (JCC) meeting on Friday, Eda Ranu and Jica announced that they had reached the objective of the project as planned. Jica PNG office chief representative Masato Koinuma said the project was not always easy but parties worked together to address challenges.
He assured Eda Ranu that Jica would continue to work with them for the enhancement of the performance of the sewerage management system in the country.
