A LOCAL firm which provides purified drinking water is backing the Goroka Lahanis for the upcoming Digicel Cup season.
Flystone Wara started providing 19L of purified water in containers to the Goroka White and Red sides during the club’s recent trial matches.
Company owner Smith Akapare said as a local small-to-medium enterprise, Flystone Wara would support the 2018 champions.
Akapare, a former rugby league player himself, said he would provide water to the Lahanis during their home games at the National Sports Institute.
“I am happy to provide fresh and purified water which is good for the body, we can also provide water for visiting teams if they want. We can also supply water to organisations and individuals,” he said.
Upon receiving the water, Lahanis team management spokesman Benji Fiele thanked Flystone Wara for the support.
“Your support may be considered small but it goes a long way to boost our players and team in the Digicel Cup,” he said.
He said the Lahanis welcomed support in cash and kind to help boost the team.
The firm is supplying water for Chinese civil engineering firm China Wuyi Constructions, Oxfam International, University of Goroka and other interested individuals.
