Water PNG: Work continues as normal

WATER PNG says that water supply and safe disposal of waste water services will continue as normal during the state of emergency lockdown period.
The management said, in a statement, that it would maintain essential staff at its head office and at business centres across the country.
It said this arrangement was done to ensure its services continued, not disrupted or compromised and that emergencies were attended to during the lockdown.
“All necessary arrangement are in order with stock of water chemicals for water treatment process to maintain World Health Organisation (WHO) standards and technical backup arrangement with our contractors and suppliers to maintain service delivery at 24/7 with contingency plans in place,” Water PNG management said.
The management also urged the public to look after the Water PNG assets and respect duty staff.
“We are working around the clock to provide safe water and proper disposal of waste water to fight Covid-19,” it said.
“We advise our valued clients and customers to pay their bills through the bank or through electronic means during this period as all cash offices will be closed to maintain social distancing (1.5m).”
