Wau soccer sees more sides for new season

WAU Football Association recently started its 2019 competition with the second round games played last weekend according to president Shem Farrock, pictured.
He said the competition started on a high note with many new clubs taking part.
“We have increased the number of men’s A League clubs from eight to 10 this season promoting clubs from the B division,” Farrock said.
“This year we have promoted NAJA FC, who won the B division last season earning them promotion.
“We’ve also increased teams in the women’s A League from six to eight teams and have 12 playing in the men’s B divisions, 16 in the U17 boys and six in the U17 girls,” said Farrock.
He said a total of 52 teams would take part in the 2019 WFA season and the organisers had the challenge of managing the season.
