Yangoru-Saussia MP Richard Maru says his People First Party (PFP) will not field candidates for the Rabaul and Pomio Open seats in East New Britain.
Speaking at his party’s launch in Gazelle, Maru said current Pomio MP Elias Kapavore, who was a People’s National Congress party member, was doing a good job.
Party adviser Kessy Sawang said anyone above 16 years old could become a PFP member.
“It is an institution we are building but, more than that, it is a movement,” he said.
“PFP is a movement for this generation which we are going to take the leadership of Papua New Guinea.”
Maru outlined that was one of the key policies of PFP.
He said the party’s headquarters would be in East New Britain.
