THE National Weather Service is forecasting severe thunderstorms across the country.
Assistant director Jimmy Gomoga urged people to exercise care.
He attributed this to seasonal weather pattern changes expected in April and May.
With the rain and the earthquake in the Southern Highlands, Gomoga has warned people in those affected areas to be wary of landslides.
The 7.5 magnitude earthquake struck at 3.44 am on Monday in Southern Highlands region, about 30km south of Tari and about 40 km northwest of Lake Kutubu.
He said severe thunderstorm should be experienced in the Highlands region in the coming months.
Balimo in Western should expect a lot of rain on Saturday.
Kokopo town and Alotau will experienced five weather but with afternoon and evening showers during the weekend.
The rest of the country will be experiencing a cloudy with light afternoon showers and sunny breaks.
