A DIRECTION has been put to provincial administrator Kemasang Tomala to suspend Nawaeb district administrator Roy Kamen following threats against a local level government (LLG) president in his area.
The direction came from Morobe Governor Luther Wenge this week following threats against Wain-Erap LLG president and works chairman Charlie Foike nearly two weeks ago.
It was alleged that on Dec 13, sometime between 5 and 6pm, three vehicles with about 16 people in all turned up Boana station, where the Nawaeb district headquarters is located, and went to see district administrator Roy Kamen where they conversed for a while.
The group of men then headed for Foike’s house shouting his and his brother’s names, drove through into his residence and assaulted his house boy.
All this happened while Foike was asleep and after being alerted by his house boy he with a knife ran out but the men had left.
Later they returned and chased him with a gun and pistol into the bush.
Foike believes the incident may be related to  his stopping the full payment of K240,000 to a contract for the Arisisi-Sitongora road where a local contractor was awarded.
