Kokofa Cats determine to spoil the party in POMAFL grand final

By ROBINSON LEKA
THE West Eagles are confident of retaining the Port Moresby AFL title having lost just one match all season heading into tomorrow’s grand final against Kokofa Cats (3pm kick-off).
West Eagles skipper Jeffrey Vogai said their only loss was to Kokofa Cats in round one and was anticipating a tough encounter at the Colts Oval.
“It’s the final match of the season and Kokofa Cats will be just as determined as us,” he said.
“Our last game with Kokofa-Cats didn’t go the way we wanted, we won but it was a narrow victory and I’m expecting the grand final to be even tougher.
“We’ve been playing well all year and are looking to retain the title.
“Our coach and management have been relaying to us some positive speeches all week and we’re confident that we can win the title again this year.”
Meanwhile, Kokofa-Cats skipper Bena Michael said his side were primed for the final.
“We’re looking forward to giving the West Eagles a strong challenge,” he said.
“We beat them in the first match and the second encounter with them this season was a good one which they got a win. I’ve told my players not to doubt themselves.
“All we need to do is to play for each other and compete for the entire match.”
