THE Westpac Bank PNG has named its first female regional manager for branches.

Dorothy Pasingan, who was appointed to the role after 34 years with the bank, would be looking after eight of the 16 branches that include  Port Moresby, Boroko, Goroka, Hagen, Tabubil, Kimbe, Kavieng and Kokopo.

Head of retail banking Adam Downie said Pasingan has great integrity, a strong work ethic and is highly respected by her peers at Westpac.

Pasingan will be using her coaching skills and “encyclopaedic knowledge” of the bank’s processes to drive a “culture of delighting customers and developing our people,” according to Downie.

“Westpac PNG already has a strong representation of women in senior management roles, including the heads of IT, Operational Risk and Credit, all fields traditionally dominated by men.

Pasingan, who said she was thrilled to have been entrusted with a crucial job for the bank, vowed to boost the bank’s reputation further.
