Westpac names new board exec

WESTPAC PNG has announced the appointment of Monica Salter to the Westpac Bank PNG Ltd board as an independent non-executive director.
Salter’s appointment was confirmed by shareholder vote at December’s annual general meeting.
Westpac Bank PNG chairman Greg Pawson said Salter’s deep commercial experience would complement the skills of the existing directors and provide a fresh approach to the board’s collective thinking.
“We are very pleased to have been able to attract a person of Monica’s calibre to the board.”
Salter has extensive business experience with responsibility for managing the Monian Group of companies and Ray White Real Estate-Papua New Guinea.
She also has a long record of service to the people of PNG having represented PNG internationally in squash, held past positions as trustee-Murray International School Board, Foundation Secretary PNG Thailand Business Association, vice-president New Ireland Red Cross, treasurer – Bougainville Children’s Fund, director and Fellow of the PNG Institute of Directors and vice-president – Real Estate Industry Association.
Mel Togolo was also re-elected for his 18th term as an independent non-executive director for Westpac board at the December AGM. 
Togolo also currently holds the position of chairman of Nasfund and is the country manager for Nautilus Minerals PNG.
