MEMBER for Wewak Dr Moses Manwau is appealing to all members of the Wewak joint district and budget priorities committee (JDP&BPC) to work together in order to serve the interests of the people they represent.
Speaking during his first official meeting with the JDP&BPC at the Sea View Hotel in Wewak last Thursday, Manwau said it was important that they put their political differences aside and faced the bigger challenge of bringing goods and services to the people.
Manwau was declared the new member for Wewak by the Supreme Court in July replacing Jim Simatab.
He said it was also vital that they ironed out their grievances, mobilise themselves and make collective decisions that would benefit people in the  district.
Boikin-Dagua LLG president James Haurom said as  leaders they had a duty to deliver and, therefore, would work together to ensure that all outstanding projects were attended to.
The meeting last week, also saw the appointment of a new Wewak town mayor.
He is Peter Saun, who is also the new deputy JDP&BPC chairman replacing Haurom, who now holds the Fisheries ministry in the East Sepik provincial assembly.
