What to look for in a leader

Are you prepared to elect a leader?
Characteristics of a successful candidate with good leadership style is someone who:

  • CHOOSES to lead and develop others as a leader;
  • IS the person others choose to follow;
  • PROVIDES a vision for the future;19
  • PROVIDES encouragement;
  • MAKE others feel important and appreciated;
  • LIVES your values;
  • SETS the pace;
  • CONTINUOUSLY improves;
  • PROVIDES opportunities for growth; and,
  • CARES and acts with kindheartedness.

When a leader is uncertain about how he is doing as a leader, he must be a person who finds out from his people if he is doing the right thing.
His answer will be there.
In good leadership, success is peace of mind which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you made the effort to become the best of which you are capable.
Faith and patience are the capstone of our success.
As individuals, we must focus our attention on what ticks great leadership:

  • GOOD values attract good people;
  • LOVE is the most powerful;
  • CALL yourself a teacher;
  • EMOTION is your enemy;
  • IT takes 10 fingers to make a basket;
  • LITTLE things make big things happen;
  • MAKE each day your masterpiece;
  • THE carrot is mightier than a stick;
  • MAKE greatness attainable by all;
  • SEEK significant change;
  • DON’T look at the scoreboard; and,
  • HARDSHIP is your asset.
