WHP development meet set for tomorrow

THE Western Highlands Development Forum will again carry out its annual Mt Hagen city cleanathon on Saturday.
The programme will be carried out by more than 4,000 people from 7am to noon.
The Forum will host a cocktail dinner at Hotel Kimininga from 6pm to 10pm.
Deputy Prime Minister Belden Namah, Petroleum and Energy Minister William Duma and Health Minister Jamie Maxtone-Graham are expected to attend. Namah will also open his PNG Party branch office in Mt Hagen.
Tickets for the dinner are sold at K100 each.
The programme aims to restore law and order and educate the public to keep the city clean. The Forum’s aim is to work with law enforcement bodies such as the Police, Correctional Services and Defence Force.
The cleanathon has received from Coca Cola K5,000, Mapai Transport K5,000, Mt Hagen Provincial Hospital CEO Dr James Kintwa K5,000, Kepas Rakop K5,000, Naiman Daniels K5,000, Gabriel Pepson K1,000, Michael Makap K500 and Governor Tom Olga K25,000.
Forum interim chairman Samson Komati said they aimed to restore the good image of the city.
He urged everyone to take part in the cleanathon to improve the city’s look.
Komati said nothing would change if people just sat around doing nothing.
