WESTERN Highlands provincial health authority chief executive Dr James Kintwa has acknowledged the support of parliamentarians in the province for their contribution to health services.

Kintwa said Western Highland was the first province to receive support from its MPs.

He said their contributions were allowing the health authority to achieve a lot of its plans.

“Governor Paias Wingti is taking the lead and all the MPs are playing their part and I believe we will achieve our plans,” he said.

Kintwa said one of the plans was to upgrade Kotna to a district hospital, with Tambul and Lumusa next.

“Things don’t happen overnight and it takes time and needs support to be done,” he said.

“We do not want to see people dying. We want to provide the best health services and this is the start.”

Kintwa said a joint effort was required for more efficient supply.
