Why investigate?
WHY does the Defence Minister Saki Soloma and Nawaeb MP Kennedy Wenge want to investigate the deaths of Christians at the Sarawaget mountains?
It has been already mentioned by the victims themselves and others that they suffered from cold and hunger.
What more do you want to investigate?
The best time to respond is immediately when the disaster was reported.
It is now too late.
The correct question that should be asked by Wenge is why the Defence Force and the disaster office were late in responding as immediately as possible to the incident.
The best thing for Soloma is to work on how he would improve the Defence Force emergency responses.
This is not the first time and certainly not the last time. It is time now the PNG government relook at how the disaster and emergency systems work in PNG and improve the level of communication and command.
This recent incident is a big failure from the relevant emergency authorities.
The two MPs are wasting time talking about investigations. Talk about how to respond fast and help effectively next time.

Totally agree….The cause of the death is natural and what can one do. Blame the members for their failures in not building proper roads and bridges connecting inland villages to the coastal areas. Member for Kabwum was relected for third term and what did he do to avoid such incidents. Didnt he know that Mount Sarawaged would freeze one day.. Lets all wake up and see what is happening around the World. PNG is part of this Global.
Every where you hear this word…Climate Change….Is Climate change only for coastal people making them aware of rising sea level? No, climate change is for all both coastal and inlands areas.
