A 20-YEAR-OLD woman who was alleged to have murdered her husband was freed by a committal court in Lae for lack of evidence.
Senior magistrate Pious Tapil on May 9 freed Gagi Samuel, from Huon Gulf’s Kobio village in Morobe. He said the court needed evidence that Gagi intended to kill her husband.
“More than enough time was given and police are unable to provide evidence. No medical report, copy of death certificate and post-mortem.
“This case has been discharged and struck out.”
You can consider yourself lucky and behave when you are free,” Tapil told Gagi.
On Nov 2, in Bumbu compound in Lae, Gagi and Ambrose had a fight and Gagi allegedly stabbed her husband with a knife.
Gagi was charged on Nov 26 and remanded.
