Will education policies work?

Letters

THE Education Department has many education policies.
Some are currently being implemented.
One is the 1:6:6 structural change with newly revised standards-based curriculum.
Under this, more students will be enrolled at high school and there will be a great need for specialised teachers, especially in mathematics and science.
There will be not enough facilities for high schools.
There will be a change in government policy such as one high school to five high schools per local level government.
This is because of the increasing population.
Education standards may still drop, especially in mathematics and science because we have teachers who aren’t specialised.
The Government has to introduce teaching courses, especially in mathematics and science at the new Western Pacific University for more high school teachers.
The previous governments and many people were affected by the abolished outcome-based education curriculum.
How sure are we that the standards-based education curriculum will improve things?
