When will locals benefit?

I AM not blind.
They are investing to create agri-businesses through the so-called state-owned enterprises (SOEs).
So the haves and the powerful will continue to own and eat from the riches of our motherland.
Look at the LR Group involvement in the agri-sector. Look at the newly established cocoa board company based in East New Britain, and now the Rubber Board is investing K20 million in equity payoff in the New Hanover Integrated Agriculture and Forestry project. Many more SOEs will be created soon when the rundown plantations are revived under the Government’s new plantation resuscitation scheme.
The state must stay away and refrain from owning businesses directly, except for the resource owners themselves.
The State only facilitates, regulates and collects taxes and
imposes fees according to the law.
This way, the economy is more free and vibrant and the “small people” through their small businesses join forces to venture into businesses that can meet the challenges of foreign entities and big corporations.
The state can help with training, management, incentives and business development grants to boost locally owned businesses.
