Port Moresby schools closed on Monday due to the fight between candidate supporters that erupted last Sunday in the city which sparked a citywide outbreak of violence. Education secretary Dr Uke Kombra, commenting on when classes would resume, said: “It is wiser for our students and teachers to remain at home until we get clearance from police.” Until then, school yards will remain empty, just like this one.
