Solar-powered street lights installed earlier this year in Mendi, Southern Highlands, have been damaged. When the lights were installed, many locals welcomed the project. However, that joy was short-lived. Counting for the National Election 2022 at Momei Oval brought supporters of different candidates together and tension sparked and many of the lights together with the poles were removed.
