Children attending the Kupiano Secondary School in Central have taken it upon themselves to dig another well to cater for the water shortages experienced by the learning institution. Kupiano Secondary also enrols students from other parts of PNG, for both day and boarding students to do grades nine to 12. In recent weeks, many students were hospitalised from drinking untreated water. It is not known if the education and provincial government authorities are aware of the situation at the school.
