A VILLAGER next to a K200,000 ramp pump that pumps water for Kabwum district in Morobe.
It pumps water 200 metres up a hill to a reserve tank which then supplies the villages of Ere and Kamandu in ward 12, Gilang and Umbiamon in ward 13, and Upat village in ward 14.
Other villages and wards in other LLGs will also receive this project.
Birimon and Botimon villages in Deyomas LLG have received their water supply project.
It was an initiative of Kabwum DDA to provide healthy, clean and safe drinking and cooking water that is accessible by all.
The district was one of the worst hit in the country during the El Nino period between 2015 and 2016, posing greater risks to the lives of the people.
The DDA is working with local MP Patrick Basa to have other major projects for the district implemented.
