Flooding in the Sogeram River in Madang has forced the Sogeram Primary School teachers to close the school after an elementary student was swept away.
Head teacher Joe Amos said flooding began on March 18 and it is still flooding.
Amos said seven teachers in the level four school were moved to town because water flooded the school, their gardens and the classrooms.
He said a six year old boy who was student at Andamang Elementary School was carried away by the flood.
