Woman among 13 arrested

A WOMAN is among 13 men arrested and charged with possession of offensive weapons, which included professionally made catapults capable of projecting metal ballistic arrows in Southern Highlands, police say.
Deputy commissioner and chief of police operations Anton Billie said police uniforms (field gear) were also confiscated last week from those arrested at the Koare village in the province.
Billie said they were travelling in a white Toyota LandCruiser Trooper registered BEJ 331.
He said members of the Joint Security Task Force Quick Response unit for General Election 2022 stopped and searched the vehicle and its passengers and discovered the weapons and the police field gears.
Billie said the uniforms are believed to have been issued to a police officer based at the Waigani Police Station in Port Moresby.
The police officer will be questioned,” he said.
