A WOMAN and her family are living in fear after being attacked twice at their Port Moresby home by men she claims to be relatives of a lawyer.
The latest attack was on Sunday morning in which windows and a door were damaged.
Helen Lindon, 54, said the men had been accusing her son for attacking the lawyer in a fight on New Year’s Eve.
Lindon, from Savaviri village, Gulf, said the three men who described themselves as the relatives of the lawyer entered the family premises and threatened to harm her and her family.
It was the second time they had attacked the home.
Lindon admitted that her 18-year-old son Jeffery allegedly had a “fight” with the lawyer and another man during a drinking binge.
During the fight, the lawyer had his reading glasses broken and blamed Jeffery for the damage.
Lindon claimed the lawyer then instructed the three men to go to her premises on Jan 2 and demand that Jeffery pay compensation for the glasses or be beaten up.
Lindon, who is a nurse at the Port Moresby General Hospital, paid K50 to the lawyer as compensation for the glasses.
But his relatives returned to attack her family.
“I reported the matter to Boroko Police on four occasions but every time they (police) said there was no vehicle.”
Police operations chief Andy Bawa when contacted yesterday said he was not aware of the matter.
