A WOMAN accused of injuring another woman was freed by the Waigani District Court on Wednesday after not a single witness turned up to provide evidence.

Brenda Kens, of Injua village in Nipa-Kutubu, was alleged to have wounded Lucy Jerry Digine at Fortune Club in the National Capital District on Oct 18 last year.

Both women are married to the same man.

The hearing was originally set for Feb 18 but was adjourned to Wednesday when the complainant and witnesses failed to turn up.

According to the charge sheet, Kens went to the club when she heard that her husband was there with Digine and some friends.

She allegedly stabbed Digine with a kitchen knife until the latter collapsed.
