VODAFONE has given away a vehicle to the winner of its mobile phone top-up promotion competition which has been running for three months.
Vodafone PNG head of marketing Ben George announced on Friday that Lena Alang, of Kavieng, was the winner of the Toyota vehicle, whose name was picked through an electronic random selection computer system.
He said there was an overwhelming number of entries.
Vodafone has 650,000 confirmed subscribers in the country.
Senior Constable Ila Rive oversaw the electronic random name selection process at the Vodafone headquarters.
It was the highlight of Vodafone’s advertising promotions that saw daily cash prizes of K500 and weekly giveaways of Samsung smartphones.
Vodafone invested K360,000 in the promotions which ran from May to July.
“Winning a brand new LandCruiser is beyond my wildest dreams,” Alang said.
The vehicle cost about K200,000.
Alang expressed her thanks to Vodafone for running the promotion and thanked her niece Sollin Willie for supporting her with Vodafone top-ups during the promotion period.
Willie, 23, estimates that she spent about K300 on top-ups.
