THE Centre for Democratic Institutions (CDI) will conduct  two days of training for intending women candidates for the local level government (LLG) elections.

Eastern Highlands Governor Julie Soso invited the CDI to conduct the programme for women in Eastern Highlands’ eight districts.

Soso will officially open the training at 9am today.

According to the facilitator, Steven Willie Gari,  Soso was one of the participants of a similar training by CDI.

“The training is to empower women to do well at the polls, as good as the men,” Gari said.

“It’s basically about campaign strategies, including speeches, budget, campaign messages and networking with stakeholders.”

He will be assisted by John Barei of CDI, Haga Irish and Anna Yombo.

More than 40 women from the eight districts are expected to attend the programme at the National Sports Institute.
