TRANSPORT Secretary Roy Mumu has called for more women in tertiary institutions to take up a career in the transport sector.
Mumu said about 70 per cent of the workforce in the transport sector was made up of men.
“Professional female Papa New Guineans are very much our target,” he said.
“We want to encourage female officers from our various institutions to take up transport as a career.”
Mumu said more opportunities should be given to female officers in the transport sector, not only at the working-level but middle-to-upper-management level.
