THE national women’s football team received a boost to their Oceania Football Confederation Women’s Nations Cup campaign with a K750,000 sponsorship from Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited (KPHL) and National Gaming Control Board (NGCB).
KPHL provided K250,000 and NGCB fulfilled Prime Minister James Marape’s Papua New Guinea Football Association commitment with K500,000 last week.
“The donation from KPHL, which has been supporting football for the last four years, is timely,” association president John Kapi Natto said.
He thanked KPHL managing director Wapu Sonk and his management team in having confidence in the team.
Kapi Natto also acknowledged other sponsors, including NGCB, Mineral Resources Development Company and the National Fisheries Authority.
He also thanked Marape for fulfilling his commitment.
Kapi Natto acknowledged the support from Ombudsman Commission, Bank South Pacific Financial Group Limited and NGCB for the timely release of the funds.
He acknowledged Marape’s visit to the team’s camp at the Pearl Resort and Spa at Pacific Harbour, Navua, while in Suva for a Pacific Island Forum meeting.
