CIVIL Aviation Minister Jelta Wong says he supports recent developments made by the Accident Investigation Commission (AIC) to improve safety in the aviation system through accident investigation.
Wong said he was encouraged to know that the AIC had been committed to improving safety since its establishment and was one of the top accident investigation authorities in the world.
He said the new website launched yesterday was an example of how the AIC was continuously improving the relationship between the organisation and the public, making relevant information available and easy to access.
The AIC presented a series of strategic documents.
Chief Commissioner Hubert Namani said as part of the commission’s strategies for continuous improvement, a new corporate plan and a series of processes documented in manuals, including finance and human resources, have been developed.
The newly launched website contained a number of resources, including investigation reports, safety recommendations and statistics.
“In an effort to provide safety related information to the public, the new AIC website has been structured to address the requirements of different types of users, with or without aviation background,” Namani said.
“One of the key considerations for the development of the new website was the time a user may have to look for specific information.
“Time is the most valuable asset people have and being conscious of that, it was one of the priorities for the development of the new website to include an intuitive user interface in which key contents are easy to access.”
