A drop-off bus was held up at gunpoint by a group of youths with bush knives and a pistol at 6-Mile, in Port Moresby, early on Saturday.
National Capital District Metropolitan Superintendent Perou N’Dranou confirmed the incident happened while the bus was dropping off Vision City Mega Mall workers.
Constable William Rali told The National yesterday that the incident happened between 1am and 1.30am.
“It was at this time when three security guards from Millennium Security Firm escaped and reported the case to the 6-Mile Police Station, saying the bus taken was a 25-seater coaster bus,” Rali said.
Rali said according to reports, the youths allegedly took the bus with six female wokers, some male workers and some security guards.
He said only the bus was recovered at 8am on Saturday along the Magi Highway near the Tubuseria village but there was still no news about the missing workers and security guards.
Rali said the number of male workers missing were yet to be confirmed.
