Works Department ready to deliver quality bridges

 THE Department of Works and Implementation will do its best to deliver high quality bridges that can withstand floods in Northern, Secretary David Wereh says.

Wereh was in Popondetta last Thursday for the launching of the K139.4 million Bridges Construction Project and thanked the Oro people for their endurance and recovery after Cyclone Guba hit them in 2007. He said the cyclone caused a lot of damage.

“Cyclone Guba had brought about so many challenges for the Works Department to address the issues of bridges and roads,” he said.

The Australian Government is funding the construction of the four bridges.
