YAMAHA has been working with Ela Motors in Papua New Guinea for almost 40 years and in that time both companies have established a strong relationship, says Tatsuya Fukamachi.
Fukamachi is the general manager area marketing division Overseas Market Development Operations of Japanese manufacturer Yamaha Motor Company Limited.
Yamaha Motor was established in 1955, and continues to thrive with its core products of mostly motorcycles and outboard motor engines. In the current market, outboard motors hold the number one share and motorcycle number two in the world.
“Along with motorcycles and outboard motor engines, Yamaha had been expanding our business as well in generators and boat manufacturing, which continue to make our business rich and diverse,” Fukamachi said.
“Yamaha Motor aims to bring excitement, joy, and spirit along with promoting happiness and enrichment to the people of the world through our products and services. And at the same time taking into account the society and the environment.
“Ela Motors and Yamaha continue to supply products, namely outboard motors, generators and motorcycles while trying to meet customer’s expectations.”
He said with Yamaha boats, their technical assistance agreement with Ela Motors started in 1988.
