THE National Development Bank Investments has received support for the hosting of its inaugural Entrepreneurial Youth Summit.

A cheque for K100,000 was presented last Friday by the National Youth Development Agency, which will co-host the summit.

NDBI CEO Des Yaninen said the summit aimed to promote youth entrepreneurship and unemployment, and he was pleased that NDB had a partnership with NYDA in addressing these youth issues in the country.

“On behalf of NDB Investments and NDB group, we would like to welcome on board NYDA as co-host of the 2015 entrepreneurial youth summit,” he said.

“The aims of the summit are to promote youth businesses in Papua New Guinea and also to hear from the young people what are the challenges and obstacles they face to getting into business and to come up with multi sectorial solutions to those challenges.

“At the summit we hope to showcase many opportunities that are available to young people to help them get into businesss or to grow their businesses that they are simply not aware of. So those are the main reasons why we are hosting the summit together with our partner NYDA.”

Yaninen said the Bank South Pacific, Paradise Foods, British American Tobacco and Nasfund had pledged their support for the summit.

The two-day entrepreneurial youth summit would be held on Sept 21-22 in Port Moresby.
