Youths told to avoid drugs, homebrew

SOUTHERN Highlands police commander Chief Supt Joseph Tondop has urged youths to play sport rather than taking drugs and consuming homebrew.
Tondop, pictured, made the appeal on Saturday when kicking off Mendi games for the festive season.
Trophies for the games will be bought by the police department and the ultimate prize will be the provincial police commander’s cup.
“Play sports and be physically and mentally fit and abstain from taking marijuana and home brew,” Tondop told youths and their parents at Mendi’s Joe Keviame Rugby Oval
He was accompanied by acting provincial administrator Thomas Eluh and Major Raymond Pakii, commanding officer of the First Pacific Island Regiment at Taurama Barracks in Port Moresby.
