MOROBE provincial police commander Alex N’Drasal has urged youths in Mutzing and surrounding communities in Markham to till the land and not wait around for handouts.
He said this after youths from Sampubangin village at Mutzing surrendered homebrew-making equipment and marijuana to police on Wednesday.
The surrendering of these illegal items and marijuana come after a month-long community awareness carried out by Mutzing Police Station commander and his officers.
N’Drasal, while addressing the youths in front of their parents and community leaders, urged them to keep away from those activities and trouble.
“You have the land,” he said.
“Stop selling land to outsiders and you become spectators in business.
“Grab the opportunities available.
“Make a meaningful living by getting your hands dirty, so that your sweat brings you success.”
N’Drasal warned the youths that police would come down hard on them if they continued with such behaviour.
