Yoviga leads in Okapa race

NEW Generation Party candidate Igitava Wayaure Yoviga leads the race for the Okapa seat in Eastern Highlands.
Yoviga leads with 1,440 votes, with nearest rival and independent candidate Smith Onaga on 802 votes.
Former MP Castan Maibawa, is third with 633 votes, while incumbent MP Bonny Oveyara trails on 105.
Okapa returning officer Trexy Anakime said they had completed 20 of the 114 boxes from the electorate.
He said counting began in South Fore and should reach North Fore before Auyana, Kanita, Keyagana and Gimi.
The elimination process starts after that.
Anakime said a progressive total of 4,788 ballots had been counted, with 41 ruled informal and 4,747 ballots distributed.
