OFFICIALS from the YWAM medical ships and Puma Energy met yesterday to discuss strategies on their partnership.
The meeting was also to develop their relationship on areas which would affect more Papua New Guineans on healthcare and health education.
Puma Energy country manager Jim Collings said the company had been involved with YWAM since 2015. They provide the mv YWAM PNG with fuel and lubricants, requirements for healthcare and training activities in the Southern region and Huon Gulf.
“It is an opportunity for us to make a real change,” he said.
“We just have to think about what strategies we can do to make sure we are investing in the right places at the right time and funding the right resources to the right problems to the right opportunities.”
The medical ships and Puma Energy this year expanded their partnership through a youth development programme aimed to help young people discover their potential while engaging in service.
Four young people from Kouderika, Roku, Tatana and Baruni villages near Napa Napa refinery were sponsored by Puma Energy to be volunteers on the ship during its outreach to Central.
YWAM medical ships managing director Ken Mulligan thanked Puma Energy for the ongoing partnership.
“Puma plays a vital part in the development of PNG,” Mulligan said.
“It is wonderful to find partners who are committed to helping achieve great outcomes for PNG.”
