CLIMATE change campaigner Latin N’Drihin has received K50,000 to support his “campaign walk” around the world.

An executive staff of National Gaming Control Board (NGCB) community fund who requested not to be named yesterday confirmed assisting N’Drihin.

“The money will help him buy his expedition necessities as well as cover for his travel expenses,” she said.

The 42-year-old N’Drihin began his campaign walk in Manus in 2010.

The following year he walked in parts of Madang and Lae. Last year in Port Moresby, he walked around the Sir John Guise Stadium for six days.

N’Drihin thanked the NGCB for recognising his dream and passion for climate change campaign.

“NGCB  is now the major sponsor for the walk,” he said.

“My two main objectives include promoting ecological peace for mankind to understand and respect nature and the other is to advocate for climate change refugees to be recognised by International Humanitarian law for protection.”

“It took me three years to plan the walk.”

As a lead up to his walk around the world scheduled for May, he would travel to New Ireland on April 19 and walk around the island for three weeks to test his physical endurance and mental focus.
