A PRIMARY school board chairman in Wewak, East Sepik, has welcomed the decision to appoint a new principal for Brandi Secondary School.
Yarapos Primary School chairman Caspar Yake said the change was in the best interest of all concerned.
He said parents always wanted Brandi to excel in academic performance.
Yake said instead of criticising the appointment of new teachers to schools, including Brandi, parents and citizens must work together with the school boards of management and the teachers to ensure that education benefitted the children.
He said some parents were trying to bring the former school principal back.
“We the stakeholders have no facts about the school and should not talk until investigation is completed,” Yake said.
Provincial education board adviser Joseph Auli confirmed that the former principal had been given a deputy principal position in another school.
His position has been filled by former principal of Brugham Secondary School in Maprik.
Auli said classes at the school were progressing smoothly with no hiccups.
