ELEVEN men have been arrested by police in Finschhafen, Morobe, for being drunk and disorderly at Gagau village in the Siki local level government.
Police sergeant John Bain said the 11 were drinking home-brew, swearing and disturbing the villagers on Friday.
When village court official Tangi Kaiamba confronted them, he was assaulted.
Police went to the village on Monday to arrest the men.
But as they were taken to the police station, Kaiamba requested police to release them with a warning.
“We sat the 11 down, and gave them a strong lecture,” Bain said.
