A LEADERSHIP tribunal has been told that Madang MP Brian Kramer will answer to 14 allegations levelled against him.
This was revealed by the Public Prosecutor Pondros Kaluwin to the tribunal comprising of Justice Laurence Kangwia, Senior Magistrate Josephine Nidue and Senior Magistrate Edward Kamia at Waigani yesterday. Kaluwin said there were 20 volumes of books in relation to the allegations of misconduct in office against Kramer.
Kramer’s lawyer Miglishi Giruakonda asked the tribunal for a month to go through the files.
Giruakonda said since there were 14 allegations and 20 volumes, he would need time to go through all of them to be prepared to proceed with the tribunal.
Kaluwin agreed to the adjournment.
Giruakonda asked the tribunal not to suspend Kramer yet under section 28 of organic law on duties and responsibilities of leadership.
The tribunal then granted a month adjournment and set Sept 30 for the tribunal to begin. The tribunal was appointed by the Deputy Chief Justice Ambeng Kandakasi on Aug 16, under section 27 (7) (e) of the organic law on duties and responsibilities of leadership.
Kramer is to proceed with his duties as the Madang MP and Immigration and Labour Minister until further orders from the tribunal.
