FIFTEEN students from the newly-established Saonu Lutheran High School in Kabwum, Morobe, have received offers to continue their studies in national high and secondary schools.
The high school graduated 39 pioneer students last December.
According to a statement, three were selected to Passam National High School in East Sepik, one to Wawin National High School and 11 to Markham Valley Secondary School in Morobe.
The school said this was a milestone for a remote school situated at the border of the Finisterre and Sarawaged ranges in Kabwum that did not have many resources.
Saonu Lutheran High School, established in 2019, does not have a library and other educational resources. Seven Grade 10 students from the new school were ranked in the top 50 in science and five in the top 50 in mathematics in the province.
Morobe Governor Ginson Saonu said his education reform policy to improve education and making education accessible was giving students from remote areas a chance to further their education.
