FIFTEEN teams have put their hands up to compete in the 2022 Lahi Dart Association competition with late-coming teams playing catch-up matches on Sunday, according to president Abraham Sombaim.
He said after game seven of round one, Leftovers are in the pole spot with 12 points after winning six games out of seven.
They have the advantage over Parang Two, Zulu Black, Parang One and Malabu Two.
“So far, the competition is running well with 15 teams taking part,” Sombaim said.
“We are preparing for the national championships which will be held in Kavieng during the Independence weekend.
“There are no issues as everyone has been enjoying the last seven games.
“Last year’s games were deferred to this year due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
“After completing those games, we started our 2022 season.
“It will have two rounds of matches as we have 15 teams.
“We are looking at completing the season around in September or November, but may extend it.”
Sombaim said the registration fee was K400.
The teams taking part are Leftovers, Zulu Black, Parang One, Parang Two, Huon Tech, Malabu One, Malabu Two, Speed Cast, D-Boys, Zulu Blue, Merdeka, Ahkinghuc, Ad-Co, Tawib, and Three Bees.
Sombaim is supported by vice-president Navua Kapi, secretary Sylvester Yedu, treasurer Hendy Niffi, and games coordinators Ambrose Pui and Ian Bengkudud.
