ONLY three districts in Morobe have signed a service level agreement (SLA) with its health authority, says the authority chief executive officer Dr Kipas Binga.
According to Binga, the agreement basically guides health service delivery in those districts.
He said the document spelled out the needs and priorities of each district, funding, assets and how to implement the services.
“It can also hold both the health authority and respective district development authority accountable for failure to deliver to the people,” he said.
“So far, we have signed SLAs with Bulolo, Wau- Waria and Markham, I challenge all other MPs to come on board.”
“SLA allows visibility and control over assets you purchase; we’re here to help provide services.”
Binga said this initiative was for a shared commitment to addressing the health status in the province.
He said currently, 162 aidposts in Morobe were closed.
“That’s more than 50 per cent and it is a big challenge on all levels of government and bureaucrats to make it happen for our people,” he said.
“In Bulolo, there are about 14 aid posts, at the moment, only nine currently operating.
“Let’s all work together to get all aidposts in all districts to open.”
