20 men charged with being in possession of drugs, weapons

POLICE in Lae arrested 20 men and charged them with being in possession of dangerous weapons and drugs.
They were allegedly escorting a prisoner killed in the Buimo jail mass breakout last month to Finschaffen for burial last Saturday.
Lae Metropolitan Superintendent Chief Inspector Chris Kunyanban said the suspects were expected to appear in the Lae District court today. Kunyanban said three boats were used: one carrying the body of David Naya, 22, and his relatives, and two used by the men escorting the body. They were intercepted by the Morobe sea patrol police.
Guns and marijuana were found on the two boats.
