21 women in Kupiano undergo basic sewing training

A GROUP of 21 women from Kupiano in Abau district, Central are undergoing a one-week basic sewing training.
Trainer Rital Kila said the programme was to educate women on basic sewing skills so they could teach other women. The Abau district development authority sponsored the training with K32,000 which was used to buy two electric and three manual sewing machine.
It also paid the registration fees of the participants which cost K295 each.
Some women brought their own machines to the training.
The participants have 11 projects to complete to be certified.
“The training started on Monday and is expected to be completed on Friday with the presentation of certificates on basic sewing skills,” Kila said.
“We engaged Ni-Van Tailoring to teach the mothers on the basics of sewing.”
