THE K117 million four lane road project outside Port Moresby continues to take shape with work beginning this month on the curb and channel installation, contractor Mobile Works Ltd says.
In a statement, the company said work on the road project from 9-Mile to 14-Mile had intensified on both stages 1 and 2 of the road corridor.
The laying of the curbs in stage 1 started near the 9-Mile roundabout to the Institute of Business Studies University and to the Marianville Secondary School area in stage 2 last month.
“Work along the two stages are progressing on schedule and are expected to complete all drainage culverts by November,” Mobile Works Ltd said.
The company said the sealing work on the road was scheduled to commence in December.
The contractor said it hoped to deliver the project on time despite the challenges.
It said it had planned to mitigate and counter any unexpected impacts including weather.
The progress of the project is regularly updated on the company Facebook page.
